“MRS. MINIVER”

1942 Academy Award winning for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Writing, Best Director and nominated in 6 more Oscars. Mrs. Miniver (Greer Garson) and her husband Clem (Walter Pidgeon) are English Aristocrats during World War II.  Mrs. Miniver continues her social life, disarms a downed German pilot, and grows roses. It was a propaganda film aimed at ending American isolation from the war and to show how no Englishman was sheltered from the war.
